Description
This one day course will properly introduce students to the joys of basic reloading of rifle and pistol cartridges, no prior knowledge of reloading required.
Emphasis will be on procedure and safety, not usually covered in videos found on youtube, and will cover both straight wall and bottle-neck cartridge reloading, to form the solid base required for reaching the full potential for any firearm you own.
Class size will be limited to 10 students so that everyone gets a chance to make some dummy cartridges for practice and get some experience on how it all comes together. The course will cover:
- reloading advantages
- ammunition parts and functions
- tools and equipment
- the reloading process, with 2-die and 3-die setups
- reloading practice to create dummy cartridges (rifle and pistol)
- basic load development procedure
- loading for accuracy
- dangers and safety procedures
- federal law regarding reloading components
The reloading course will be held in one of the event rooms at the Estonian House, located at 958 Broadview Avenue, north of Danforth Avenue in Toronto. There is plenty of parking in the back and is a 2 minute bus ride/7 minute walk north of Danforth if taking TTC.
The course will start at 10 a.m. and run 4 to 5 hours, not including lunch or breaks, and students will create a set of dummy cartridges (rifle and pistol samples) and have a written test at the end of the course.
